We’ve
attempted to get a clear idea of who our main character is, where he spends his
time, and what starts him on his journey. It’s time to crystalize that just a
smidge. Today we’re going to brainstorm pitches.
Are
you freaking out about writing a pitch when you haven’t written word one of
your book yet? Or because you have no idea how it’s supposed to end? Or because
you’re still not 100% sold on your story concept?
This
isn’t a contest. You’re not being graded. It’s just practice. You’re not
committing to anything because you haven’t started writing yet.
So
stop freaking out and get pitchy.
Can
you fill in these blanks?
When [inciting incident] a [main character]
must [choice] or [stakes].
This
can be an elevator pitch, a contest pitch, a query style pitch or the dreaded
Twitter pitch. Or, if you’re feeling spunky, maybe one of each! Once you’ve
made an attempt, share your pitch with a friend.

How did it go?
I'm a day later on this, but I think I got a good pitch! Onto Day 11!!
