Two months early, weighing little more than three pounds, she was the best Mother's Day gift a girl could ever want. But the months leading up to her birth were HARD. I was on bed rest and not excited about it. At all.
Until I realized I could spend that time writing. Those two and a half months didn't go wasted, and as a consequence, IMPERFECTLY FINE, the novel than landed me my agent was born.
Being Calliope's Mom has made me a better writer. A better person all around. And I want to do something to celebrate that today.
Donate Here |
So for the first five people who make a donation to First Book of $10 or more and email me a copy of the receipt, I'll edit your Submission Package ($30 value) for free. A ten dollar donation purchases four books that kids in lower income families can take home and keep as their very own. For many of these families First Book serves, this will be the first time the child has owned his or her own book.
Send a copy of the receipt to Dannie.Morin.Writes (at) gmail (dot) com. You don't need to be ready for your edit right away. Consider it an I.O.U. for sometime between now and December 2014.
I'll comment at the bottom of this post when all 5 spots have been filled. Thanks for helping celebrate my incredibly bookish young princess. I'm pretty proud of her.
Aaaand that's a wrap! We raised $90 for First Book today! Thanks for celebrating with me! XOXO
